FAQs

What kind of leather do you use?

We use top-grain leather on all our products.

Is your leather full aniline or semi-aniline?

We use semi-aniline leather. Semi-aniline leather is more durable than full aniline while retaining a natural appearance. Most of our products use top-grain, semi-aniline cowhide leather.

The increased durability is provided by applying a light surface coating containing a small amount of pigment. This ensures a more consistent color and an extra degree of protection. We use semi-aniline because it is water-resistant, stain-resistant, and more durable.

Do you use bonded leather on any of your products?

No, we do not use bonded leather on any of our products. We use top-grain leather for all seating areas and armrests. Some of our products use 100% top-grain leather throughout, while other products use split-grain leather or polyurethane (PU) for the sides and back.

What are "natural kisses of leather"?

We use cowhide that is sourced in South America. Some of the natural fingerprints are left on the hide through the tanning process. No two hides are alike. On average, it will take seven hides to cover just one sofa. If you lined up six sofas all in the same leather, each sofa would have unique markings. That is how you can tell it's authentic. Within one sofa, you will see variations of texture and tone. Some markings are bug bites, barbed wire scars etc. In the leather industry, they are called "natural kisses of leather."

Are your products pet friendly?

Pets can damage leather. Our warranty does not cover damage caused by pets. While our products use highly durable top-grain leather, they are still susceptible to pet damage.

Are the sofas protected with anything?

Yes, our sofas, loveseats, recliners, and chairs use top-grain, semi-aniline leather with a protective coating. The durable outside layer helps prevent damage from light, scratches, stains, and moisture.

Will my sofa be the right height?

One of the main reasons furniture is returned is due to improper size. It’s essential to consider the measurements before purchasing. Looking over the dimensions of a sofa will determine if it properly fits your height.

We provide a variety of dimensions in all our product descriptions. Make sure to know the height and depth of both the sofa and seat cushions beforehand.

Sofa Height & Depth
Average Sofa Height: 28” to 38”
Average Sofa Depth 30” to 40”
For example:
If you’re 5’2” or shorter, a sofa with a 38” height and 40” depth will not be a good fit.
If you’re 6’ or taller, a sofa with a 28” height and 30” depth will not be a good fit.

Seat Cushion Height & Depth
Average Seat Cushion Height: 18” to 24”
Average Seat Cushion Depth: 20” to 24”
For example:
If you’re 5’2” or shorter, a sofa with a 24” seat height and 24” seat depth will not be a good fit.
If you’re 6’ or taller, a sofa with an 18” seat height and 20” seat depth will not be a good fit.
